Is an award winning gender equality champion and a Young African leader working towards empowering young girls and women in her community. She is passionate about liberating women from harmful cultural practices while offering them mentorship and educating them on sexual reproductive health and rights.
As the founder of WRI, Diram believes in the power of amplifying voices of young people in her community and beyond. Diram is a Female Genital mutilation survivor hence her passion to ensure this harmful culture ends in her community. She was privileged to go through education but this is not the case for most of the girls from her community and similar backgrounds. She believes in the power of using her voice to bring forth change to marginalized populations in her community.
Her personal experience inspired her to start women rising initiative that seeks to empower women and girls in marginalized communities  and ensure that young people get spaces in the country’s development agenda. She has vast experience in speaking at a number of global conferences.
