WAYPA Urges Youth Representation as Governance Commission Pledges Support. Monrovia, Liberia โ* November 20, 2025 Hon. Abdoulie Njai of the Gambian Parliament and Deputy Speaker International Youth Parliament, His Excellency, Hon. (Engr) Promise Anurika Nwadigos- President International Youth Parliament, Hon. Matarr Sylla- Member of the Senegalese Parliament, Hon. Sia Teah- Member of Sierra Leone Parliament and Amb. Leo E Teah- Executive Director Youth Network For Positive Change Liberia (YOUNETPO), and all newly inaugurated leaders of the West Africa Young Parliamentarian.

Network delegation to the Liberian Governance Commission, in our discussion, it was highlighted that young people must come up with good policies that will re- define their future for easy implementation. The new Executives promised that their participation in leading the network is essential to the regionโs development and pledged close collaboration with the Governance Commission to advance good governance and youth engagement.

Acting Chairman Prof. Alaric Topkpa praised WAYPA as a tribute to West African leadership and pledged the Commissionโs full support, citing alignment with ECOWAS and African Union ideals.
Executive Director Hon. Jallah C. Kesselly welcomed the delegation, urged them to regard Liberia as a home for pan African solidarity, and expressed optimism that the meeting would strengthen working ties. The talks centred on deepening cooperation between the Governance Commission and WAYPA and on advancing youth-led governance across the subregion.
